And so it goes…

Life has a way of forcing things into perspective, the chief of these is love.

Across many cultures, traditions and religions, we are commanded to love. Yet, love itself has not given us its most appropriate language, because nothing ever seems enough. Not words, not actions, not presence.

But then here comes grief. Lasting, vivid, weighty, raw. Somehow this feels like love’s most enduring language, because it is the most certain.

And so it goes, that I sit here with my grief, a sign of my love enduring, but a weight on my shoulders for as long as I breathe, if it would even let me.

This is not a tribute. This is life as I now know it.
